Speaking French is one thing, going for a real exam where you need to pass the FIDE test is totally another thing. A test is a test is a test. Best thing I ever did was joining the Pret a parler school. I went in all gun's blazing. Had access to the online classes. And had the one-on-one classes with Brice Bejuit. If I say it was the best thing I have done is an understatement. He took me back to the basics, cleaned up all the mess in my head of all the mistakes I have been doing over and over and over again, he was so patient, so encouraging and gave me all the tools that I needed to pass both Orale and Ecrit. Not only did I pass the exams but I got grades that probably never had in my years of education. I am sure all the teachers at pret a parler are great. But my experience is with Brice, and therefore, my recommendation is if you want to speak french and speak it well, if you want to pass the fide exam and you want to surprise yourself. This is a very affordable, convenient, and effective way to learn French online. My professor customizes my learning materials and the way she teaches depending on my level and progress. Most of all, I have gained my confidence in speaking without necessarily going out of my house.

My wife follows Prêt à Parler on Facebook and she thought that you guys looked really good and thought you might be a good fit for me. I was shocked to find out a few weeks ago that I need to pass a French exam for my permis C. Before pandemia I thought I was close to comfortable level B2 in French, but after not speaking much French for over two years because of isolating, I was really worried if I could pass my spoken French even at B1 level!

• Instructors: Prêt à Parler's instructors not only have a high command of the French language, but they are also very friendly and have a wide variety of interest areas. During my lessons, we talk about many topics, from AI to politics, from environment to French cinema. In short, lessons are never boring, never limited to textbook conversations. I have also learned a great deal about French culture (food, music, wine, places to go, local customs, etc.)

I have done many different types of French courses before over the years and I often found them frustrating. Group sessions are often ineffective because there are always students who dominate the class and teachers often can't handle this effectively, meaning there is not much benefit to the rest of the class.

Individual classes also can be highly ineffective if they are not carefully structured and designed to lead to progress. When I first met Isabelle, I was struck by her professionalism and no nonsense approach and agreed to give her online classes through Prêt à Parler a try. After 2 months with one of her online teachers, I can honestly say that this is the best approach I've experienced to date. The classes take place using Zoom and you can do them at any time of the day wherever you are, which means there is no time wasted in getting to class, chatting to other students, etc. Every minute counts.

The teacher is very professional and uses a structured lesson plan - to help me focus on improving my business French. The classes have been very effective in improving my vocabulary, grammar and fluency in conversation. The system works very efficiently - the teacher takes notes online on a shared screen and you can view the lesson plan. In this way, the teacher takes all the notes and you receive a pdf with all the notes, as well as the video recording after each lesson. You also get set homework for the next course. Depending on your package, you get access to an online learning program of practical every day French to use in your own time. This is by far the most professional and effective French learning I've experienced in and outside of France, including some of the well-known language schools. I have no hesitation in recommending Prêt a Parler to anyone who is serious about learning to speak French.

I arrived in Geneva two years ago to start a job in a French speaking firm with a very basic level of French. For the first year and a half I went to group lessons and taught myself but I found the lessons long and boring and struggled with motivation to teach myself in my spare time.
