online fide group lessons - living in Switzerland

Why Preparing for Your fide Test in a Group is a Game-Changer

You've decided to take the fide test. Maybe your Permis C is on the horizon, or Swiss naturalisation has been on your mind for a while. Either way, you know preparation is the key to walking into that exam room with confidence.

But here's a question not enough people ask: how you prepare matters just as much as that you prepare.

Solo study has its place. Flashcards, grammar drills, self-paced e-courses — they're all useful tools. But when it comes to the fide test specifically, learning alongside a small group of fellow expats can make a remarkable difference. Here's why.

The fide Test is a Speaking Test — So You Need to Speak

The fide exam is not a multiple-choice quiz. It tests your real-life communication skills: understanding a scenario, responding naturally, holding a conversation in French. The single best way to get good at that is to actually do it — repeatedly, with other people, and with feedback from an expert who knows exactly what examiners are looking for.

That's exactly what our Online fide Preparation Group Lessons are built around. In every 2-hour session, you'll practice over 30 realistic exam simulations alongside a small group of 4 to 6 fellow learners. You speak. You listen. You get corrected. You try again. By the time your exam day arrives, the scenarios feel familiar rather than frightening.

You're Not the Only One Going Through This

One of the most unexpected benefits our students mention? The relief of being in a room (even a Zoom room) with people who get it.

Preparing for a language exam as an adult, in a country that isn't your own, while managing work and family — it can feel isolating. In our group lessons, you'll meet other expats in Suisse romande on exactly the same journey. They're navigating the same permit process, the same Swiss culture, the same challenges of fitting French practice into a busy week.

That community keeps you accountable, motivated, and far less likely to put off studying until the last moment.

Expert Guidance, Without the Private Lesson Price Tag

Our group course is led by one of our Super Profs — native French speakers with years of experience preparing expats for the fide exam. They know the 10 topics that come up again and again: le logement, la santé, le travail, les transports, l'éducation... and all the others. They know the format inside out. And they know how to give you the specific feedback that actually moves the needle.

You get all of that expertise in a small-group setting, at a fraction of the cost of private lessons. The 10-week or 5-week programme is CHF 699 — making it one of the most accessible ways to invest seriously in your fide preparation.

Built for Busy Lives

We designed this course for professionals and parents who don't have unlimited time. Sessions run twice a week (Intensive format) or once a week on Monday evenings (Regular format), so you can plan around your schedule. And because all sessions are recorded, if life happens and you miss a class, you won't fall behind.

Over 5 or 10 weeks, you'll cover all 10 fide topics, complete more than 30 practice simulations, and come away with practical French skills that serve you well beyond exam day.

The Next Semester Starts 1 June 2026

Two formats are available for the June semester:

  • Intensive fide A2/B1 — 5 weeks, Mondays & Wednesdays, 12–2 PM
  • Regular fide A2/B1 — 10 weeks, Mondays, 6–8 PM

Both include 10 sessions of 2 hours each, for a total of 20 hours of expert-led fide preparation.

Spots are limited to keep groups small and effective. If you're aiming to pass your fide test before the end of 2026, the June semester is the ideal moment to start.
